Developing a career in the Film & TV industry always starts with getting your foot in the door. Whether you are building a career or looking to switch your skills into the entertainment industry, HollywoodEntertainmentJobs.com is the perfect place to start.

With various Major Film/TV Studios like Sony, Warner Bros, Universal, Paramount, Fox, MTV, etc there is always demand within the various departments for committed, creative and passionate people.

A driven person by the name of Marc Cherry from Fullerton, California knew that he could make it in Television. After graduating from Cal Stat Fullerton, he decided to move to Hollywood, California to make his creative mark. With hopes of getting a writing job with one of the networks, he was met with disappointment because the 1998 Writers Strike just hit when he arrived to Hollywood which made it virtually impossible for him to acquire a writing job at the networks. Out of desperation, Marc Cherry took a position as an assistant for TV Actress by the name of Dixie Carter. Dixie Carter at the time was on a TV show called Designing Women.

He took this time to build his relationships and to wait out the writers strike. He then received his break and was offered a writing job for the Golden Girls. After several writing jobs for TV/Films, Marc Cherry wanted to make his mark.

In 2002, Marc Cherry developed a “TV Show” idea that he pitched to various networks. HBO, FOX, CBS, NBC, Showtime and Lifetime all turned it down. After changing his agent and giving it one more push, his dreams came true. ABC decided to pick up the show and production quickly began.. It was a phenomenon “hit” which put Marc Cherry into an executive position.

The show that everyone doubted would work is a show called, “Desperate Housewives”. Desperate Housewives not only worked but carved a new social trend in the TV market. From the humble beginnings as an assistant to now a TV Network Executive/Producer, Marc Cherry is a perfect story for those looking to build their careers in the TV/Film industry.
